Health and Wellness : Tips for Prosthetic Users
Skin Care :
Wash your limb with mild soap and water every day and pat it dry with a soft towel. Allow it to dry completely before donning a prosthesis. Check your limb for red pressure patches that last more than a few minutes after you remove your prosthesis; these may be a sign, the socket needs checking. Stop using the prosthesis and contact the Inali Foundation immediately. Don't "pad" a pressure area, as that creates additional pressure and will make it worse. Do not use talcum powder on your limb, as it can ball up and create an abrasion. Do not shave your limb; the resulting short hairs get pushed back into your skirt becoming ingrown hairs that can become infected.
Prosthetic Care :
Clean the inside of the prosthesis with a damp cloth and mild soap Wash the socks provided to you and allow plenty of time to dry. Unless specifically instructed, do not use anything containing alcohol or unknown chemicals. Do not immerse the prosthesis fully in water. Wipe off the soap with a clean cloth and dry the prosthesis completely. It is a good idea to clean it in the evening so it can dry overnight before you wear it again Your prosthetic gloves are delicata additional care needs to be taken while handling sharp or hot objects, as they may damage the gloves Do not try to remove or tamper with the gloves. Remember, NEVER attempt to make any adjustments to your prosthesis. If something becomes loose, is working incorrectly, is making strange noises or is suddenly uncomfortable, stop using it and contact the Inali Foundation immediately! If you have a skin breakdown, don't use a prosthesis Put a clean dressing/band-aid on the area daily and see your doctor or prosthetist.

  • Do NOT charge the battery for more than 1.5 hours.
  • Avoid uneven charging of the battery, follow guidelines mentioned above.
  • Avoid overcharging, do not leave the battery charging overnight.

  • Keep the battery away from water.
Storage Instructions :
