Meet Yogita Khatri
In college, Yogita took up computer science, determined to build a career in technology. She learned to code, type, and work with complex systems using one hand. When others hesitated to offer her opportunities due to her disability, she created them herself — launching a blog that documented her journey and inspired thousands across India. Her turning point came in 2025, when she came across a video about the Inali Foundation, which provides affordable prosthetic arms. After applying and waiting patiently, Yogita was finally fitted with a lightweight, below-elbow prosthetic hand that changed everything. For the first time in her life, she could lift a cup with both hands, type faster, and even wear bangles on her left arm — something she had always dreamed of. She cried tears of joy, and her father whispered, “Ab tu poori ho gayi beta” (Now you are complete, my daughter). Today, Yogita works as a UI/UX designer for a startup and mentors other girls with disabilities. She speaks at schools and local events in Jaipur, spreading a powerful message:"Being different is not a weakness. It's a superpower — if you learn how to use it."

Meet Rahul Bind
For five years, from 2020 to 2025, he tried various options for prosthetics, but most were either too expensive or too heavy for practical use. Being from a middle-class family, spending lakhs on a bionic hand was not an option. In early 2025, Rahul came across the Inali Foundation, a name he had never heard before, but one that would soon change his life. He applied with hope, and in April 2025, he received a lightweight prosthetic hand, custom-fitted and free of cost. When he first moved the fingers of his new hand, Rahul was speechless. Emotions flooded in the pain of the past five years, the struggle, the loneliness, and finally… the joy of starting again. He said with tears in his eyes:“Main phir se jeena shuru kar raha hoon. Jis haath se maine apni pehchan banayi thi, aaj wo wapas mila hai.”(“I am learning to live again. The hand that once built my identity today, I have it back.”) Rahul is now rebuilding his life, learning new skills, and plans to return to work with renewed confidence. He also dreams of supporting others like him, saying:"Disability doesn't end a life losing hope does. Thanks to Inali Foundation, I got my hope back."

🤝 The Handshake of Friendship 🤝
Their search led them to Inali Foundation’s Pune office where, as the team took Bhagwat’s measurements and customised the electronic switch based arm, Ganesh shared their story with me. Finally, the moment arrived—the handshake that transcended mere physical contact. Bhagwat extended his prosthetic hand, and Ganesh clasped it firmly. Tears welled up in both their eyes. It wasn’t just a handshake; it was a celebration of resilience, friendship, and shared dreams.

Meet Arvind Bhargav
Before 2005, Arvind had a successful marketing job, but after losing his hand, his career took a downturn. For 15 years, from 2005 to 2020, he and his family searched tirelessly for a lightweight prosthetic hand. Throughout this time, his mother and sister were his pillars of strength. In 2015, Arvind faced another blow when his mother passed away, leaving him devastated. His sister, however, was determined to find a suitable prosthetic hand for him and vowed to tie a Rakhi on it one day. In 2020, his sister stumbled upon a video by Mr. Prashant Gade and contacted the Inali Foundation. At that time, the foundation only made prosthetic hands for below-elbow amputees, so they had to wait longer. Finally, after four more years, Arvind received a lightweight prosthetic hand that fit perfectly. Overwhelmed with emotion, his sister cried tears of joy and tied a Rakhi on his new hand, saying, "We are middle-class; we could never have afforded this hand without help."
